2024 Call to Earth Day to explore Connected Generations

On December 4, an annual event will highlight the connections between cultures and their impact on environmental conservation. This year's theme emphasizes "Connected Generations," focusing on integrating traditional sustainable practices into modern life. Students are invited to participate in activities like cleaning up trash and composing letters to their future selves about their love and commitment to their environment.
Last year, over 226,000 participants engaged in activities in 122+ countries, dedicating 4,405 hours to environmental actions, including planting over 2,600 trees and constructing nearly 4,000 wildlife shelters. The initiative aims to spotlight changemakers and projects making a difference for future generations.
Featured coverage will include meetings with individuals deriving solutions from ancient insights to tackle current ecological challenges. Viewers can expect stories and live programming from various continents, along with special segments focusing on communal efforts toward ecological restoration.
A documentary focusing on reforestation efforts in the Andes will be highlighted. Local communities have been instrumental in planting native trees crucial for the Andean ecosystem's water cycle, restoring substantial areas impacted by climate change and human activities.
Multimedia content will also explore indigenous groups' roles in climate change frontline efforts, offering a global perspective on how traditional customs can contribute to saving our planet. A dynamic live blog and social storytelling will showcase global conservation projects, encouraging public engagement through various platforms and social media.
Participants are encouraged to share their experiences and inspirations, collectively building momentum toward practical solutions to environmental challenges.
