Credit Agricole has announced a smaller-than-expected decrease in net profit for the third quarter of 2024, while maintaining its financial targets for the year. The French bank reported a net profit of 1.67 billion euros ($1.82 billion) for the period ending September 30, marking a 4.7% reduction compared to the previous year's figures. The earlier results had been bolstered by unusual reversals of provisions, which influenced the comparative decline.

The bank remains confident in achieving its annual financial goals despite the moderate dip in earnings.
