For LVMH, the Olympics Are Welcome, but Not Without Risk

Among the sponsors of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, LVMH, a luxury goods conglomerate, stands out as the most influential. With a 150 million euros ($163 million) investment, LVMH is putting its name and products everywhere. Louis Vuitton created the Olympic torch trunk and medal trays while Chaumet designed the medals incorporating a piece of the Eiffel Tower. Berluti and Carine Roitfeld created the French team’s opening ceremony outfits. Louis Vuitton and Sephora are responsible for the torch relay. LVMH aims to be a “creative partner” to showcase its brand through the Olympics.
